Thanks for taking the time to watch! In this video I show you how I go about mastering a song in Presonus Studio One Pro. Studio One has beautifully integrated mastering with the recording side of the DAW like no other and it works seamlessly. If you are considering a new DAW I would strongly urge you to at least check out what Studio One has to offer.

  1. Thank you so much David. I have been experimenting in the mastering section of Studio One 4.5 and have experienced over compression and also trying to repair mixes. Your explanation sums it all up and your hands on approach is very helpful. BEE Smith, Lost Tribe Do or Die Recordings.

  2. My mix sounds great but whenever I open up mastering page or update my mastering file I only hear a couple tracks. The output for all my tracks are set up as "Main Out" and over my master fader it says "Front left & front right"

  3. These are amazing videos! I appreciate the work! I am wondering what levels you set your mixes to in the mix track? I Bounce a track from zero to my master in Studio One and its 2.5 Db clipping! Whats the best way to mix in preparation of this?

  4. Hi
How to export STEMS with efx from Automation ?

i make a efx automated to only affect drums, and now i want get stems and every trackouk with the effect….

My way its make FX Events for all and put same efx..but its bad way to work when you have 20 trackouts…can we do other way ?

  5. Studio One is awesome. Stumbled across this tutorial after I got my copy of studio one artist that came with the faderport 8. Downloaded the studio one 3.5 Professional Demo and I am switching. Thank you for this video. Great stuff here. Still learning. Subscribed.

  6. Hello Dave! I am ready to start mastering a song, but I noticed that the realtime box is checked and grayed out; so when I make any changes, the whole track plays in real time…the entire length of the song. Is there a way to undo the real time checkbox?

  7. Awesome mate I'll check it out for sure this is my first week using studio one 3 and absolutely love it along with your great professional knowledge will help me along the way well done buddy 🙂
